New Name and Look Reflect Company’s Broader Line of Services

Carle Place, New York - October 11, 2005 - Scales Air Compressor Corporation, a leading provider of air compressor equipment, parts, service, maintenance, and energy management systems, has changed its name to Scales Industrial Technologies, Inc. The new company name and logo, effective September 30th, signals the 40-year-old business' shift toward a broader offering of services to its diverse industrial customer base in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the country.

According to company founder and CEO, Bill Scales, the company has evolved since he and his brother Peter established the business in 1966. “We began our corporate life as a small air compressor repair shop, focused only on doing repairs for industrial customers, and doing them well,” Scales says. "Times have changed, and the business has certainly kept pace, offering everything from preventative maintenance to turn-key installations to ongoing service and support. Our mission isn’t just repairs anymore; it’s about maximizing a plant's production capability, reducing its operating costs, and exceeding customers’ expectations in the process."

As an example, Scales cites the company's designation by the U.S. Department of Energy as an “Allied Partner” based on its work in performing energy management system assessments throughout the world, with the goal of reducing energy costs on multiple compressor and cooling-water systems. With facilities for warehousing, repair and remanufacturing located across five states (Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts), Scales Industrial Technologies provides customers with a full spectrum of expert services:
