Rotary Screw Vacuum Pumps

Available in air or water-cooled designs, with enclosures, our rotary screw vacuum packages are extremely durable and have excelled in continuous duty applications in industrial plants, woodworking shops, printing plants, hospitals and laboratory facilities nationwide.

Vacuum1

At the heart of this package is an air end specifically designed for industrial applications where 24 hour operation is a must. Because these systems do not require sealing water, substantial savings in water costs can be achieved over many other designs.

With this versatile and extremely reliable design, Scales Industrial Technologies can design and build a package to fit almost every need.

Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps

Vacuum2

Suited best to vacuum systems including those with high inlet particulates, wet and saturated air, and some corrosive gasses, these designs utilize water as the cooling medium and to create and seal the compression chamber. This design is very popular and is used in installations world-wide. Available with water recycling packages, or once through systems, these designs can be the most compact of all, and can fit into the tightest of spaces.

Vacuum3

Operating Principle: The diagram above shows a cross section of the Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump. It operates on the rotary liquid piston principle, the shaft and the impellers being the only moving parts. The shaft and impeller assembly is mounted eccentrically relative to the pump casing. As the impeller rotates the service liquid (which is continually supplied to the pump), is forced outwards by centrifugal force to form a liquid ring revolving concentric to the pump casing. Because of the eccentric position of the impeller, the liquid ring will move towards and away from the shaft, resulting in a liquid piston action which displaces the air or gases between the spaces of the impeller blades. As the impeller rotates, the liquid is thrown out by centrifugal force and air is drawn in through the suction port. After the suction port is passed, the service liquid is forced back into the spaces between the impeller blades, gradually compressing the air or gases. When the spaces between the impeller blades reach the discharge point, the liquid ring will force the air compressed between the blades into the discharge port.

Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps

These compact packages take up minimal floor space, and offer a practical, cost effective choice. These systems are typically available in sizes up to 30HP and easily packaged in a number of configurations including duplex and triplex arrangements.

Operating Principle: Rotation of the pump rotor, Vacuum5which is mounted eccentrically in the pump cylinder, traps entering vapor (air) between rotor vane segments. As rotation continues, vapor is compressed and discharged into the exhaust box. Vapors then pass through several stages of internal oil and mist eliminators to remove 99.9% of lubricating oil from the exhaust. Oil is then returned to the oil reservoir.

Environmental Remediation Systems

Scales Industrial Technologies also supplies Environmental Remediation Systems for Dual Phase Product Recovery (DPE), Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) and Air Sparging. Vacuum6DPE systems include a water sealed, self-contained liquid ring vacuum pump that has a patented 100% total recirculating design. This state-of-the-art pump is simplistic and eliminates the inherent problems of oil exhaust carryover and extreme high exhaust temperatures inherent with oil sealed liquid ring technology. SVE and Sparging systems incorporate high performance Siemens/Nash-Elmo regenerative blowers and Orion oil-less rotary vane pumps. Regenerative blowers are available in single and multi-stage configurations to achieve deep vacuum levels as well as high pressure. Custom designs are a standard for our engineering and design group, including various types of auxiliary equipment necessary for a complete system.
